Nero Claudius Drusus was actually the son of Tiberius Claudius Nero. He was adopted by Augustus as a condition of Livia divorcing Nero and marrying Augustus. Germanicus was Drusus son. And yes both these men would probably have been made emperor hands down if they had lived. They both had all the "Right Stuff" as what one looks for in a leader. But Drusus died of Gangrene developing from a horse falling on him and Germanicus died of fever.
