Why is god so fond of suffering?

Suffering is evil and God is against all forms of evil in itself. But God knows that for humanity to evolve into divinity and be like Himself, we have to undergo the same suffering as Jesus did. We can be truly His children only after we have overcome all of our human weaknesses and become perfect like Him, and this transformation is naturally painful.
