Should the price of ciggaretes be increased?

For example if the price of ciggaretes was �20 a packet do you think as many people would smoke? I smoke and there is no way on earth i would pay that much for a packet.Im going to quit smoking anyway so it would have no effect on me.�5 for a packet of 20 and �2.50 for a packet of 10 is too reasonable.Why is the price so reasonable? The government has absolute power to increase the price if they wanted too.Them and the tobacco companys arent being greedy by increasing the price,they are helping people to stop by making ciggaretes unreasonable.If you cant afford them,then surely people wont buy them and wont get addicted in the first place.What do you think? Lets make them incrse the price on alcohol too.
